Educational certificate attestation

UAE employers, licensing bodies and schools usually ask for foreign education certificates to be attested before they accept them. We prepare your degree, diploma or school certificate and manage it from the first verification to the final stamp from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), while each authority along the way makes its own decision.

Overview

Why educational certificates are attested

A qualification from another country tells a UAE employer what you studied. Attestation tells them the certificate is real. That's why job offers, professional license applications, some Golden Visa routes and school admissions so often come with a request for attested educational documents.

Education certificates often carry an extra stage at the start. Before the foreign ministry will stamp a degree or diploma, many countries want it checked by the education ministry, the awarding institution or another body that confirms the qualification was genuinely issued. After that come the foreign ministry, the UAE embassy or consulate in that country and finally MOFA. We confirm the stages for your country and institution before you send the original.

MOFA treats a certificate and its transcript as two separate documents. If the receiving body wants both, each is attested, and charged, in its own right.

  1. Step 1: Tell us where it's going

    You

Let us know whether the certificate is for an employer, a licensing body, a visa or a school, and share photos of each document.

  2. Step 2: Confirm the route

    Global Sky PRO

We confirm the checks your country and institution require, whether the transcript needs attesting too, and quote our fee in writing.

  3. Step 3: Verification and home-country stages

    Authority

The institution or education authority, where required, and then the foreign ministry confirm the certificate in the issuing country.

  4. Step 4: UAE embassy and MOFA

    Authority

The UAE embassy in that country attests the certificate, and MOFA completes the UAE stage.

  5. Step 5: Return

    Global Sky PRO

We return the attested originals and let you know if the receiving body needs anything further.

What slows educational attestation down

Educational documents tend to stall at the very first stage, where the issuing country confirms the qualification. Knowing the usual causes helps you avoid them.

  • An institution that has merged, closed or changed its name since the certificate was issued
  • Distance or online study, which some countries verify differently
  • A name on the certificate that differs from your passport
  • Transcripts or mark sheets the verifying body asks to see but you no longer have
  • Lamination, which rules a certificate out at MOFA

Golden Visa and professional licensing

If you plan to apply for a Golden Visa as a skilled professional, your education level is part of the assessment, so attest the qualification you'll rely on before you apply. Licensing bodies in fields such as healthcare, engineering and teaching also look closely at qualifications and may run checks of their own. We'll tell you what we can prepare and where the licensing body takes over.

Ask on WhatsApp
Why do I need my degree attested in the UAE?

Because an employer, licensing body or visa authority needs proof that your degree is genuine before relying on it. Attestation provides that proof through a chain of official checks in the issuing country, at the UAE embassy and at MOFA. Without it, an offer, license or visa application that depends on your qualification may not progress.

Which educational documents can be attested?

Most formal education documents can, including bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, diplomas, vocational certificates, school leaving and transfer certificates, and transcripts or mark sheets. The document should be the original, not laminated, and from an institution the issuing country's authorities can verify. We check yours before anything is submitted.

Are transcripts needed?

It depends on who is asking. Many employers and licensing bodies want the transcript alongside the degree, while others accept the certificate alone. MOFA treats the certificate and transcript as two separate documents, so each is attested and charged on its own. We check the receiving body's requirement before you pay for both.

How much does MOFA charge for educational documents?

MOFA charges AED 150 per document, as educational certificates count as personal documents. A degree and its transcript are two documents. Fees in the issuing country and at the UAE embassy vary and are paid at cost, while our service fee is quoted separately, in writing, before we begin.

Can a certificate from distance or online study be attested?

Sometimes. It depends on whether the authorities in the issuing country will verify the qualification, and on whether the receiving body in the UAE accepts that mode of study. Some do and some don't. Send us the certificate and details of the course, and we'll tell you honestly what is likely before you spend money on it.

Can a laminated degree or diploma still be attested?

No. MOFA states that documents must not be laminated and rejects laminated ones, and that applies to degrees, diplomas and school certificates alike. If your certificate has already been laminated, ask the institution that issued it whether it can provide a replacement or duplicate, which can then go through the normal route. Send us a photo first, and keep future originals in a plain sleeve instead.

Who decides whether my foreign qualification is accepted in the UAE?

The organisation receiving it decides, whether that's your employer, a licensing body, a university or a school. MOFA's attestation certifies that the signatures and seals on the certificate are genuine; it doesn't judge the level or content of the qualification. Some receivers run their own checks or ask for formal recognition as well, and we tell you at the start where attestation ends and their decision begins.

Do I need my educational certificates attested for a UAE job?

For many jobs, yes. The UAE government portal u.ae says some jobs require expatriates to present attested academic certificates for their residency and employment procedures. The certificate is authenticated by the foreign ministry in the country of origin, then by the UAE embassy or consulate there, before MOFA's stage. Your employer confirms whether your role needs it, so ask HR early and send us their list.

Does my degree need translating before MOFA attestation?

Only if it isn't in English or Arabic. MOFA asks for the original in Arabic or English, or accompanied by a legally certified translation, so a certificate in another language needs its translation in place before the MOFA stage. Whether that translation is prepared in the issuing country or in the UAE depends on your route, and we confirm which before you start.

Can I attest several educational certificates in one MOFA application?

Yes, up to five. MOFA allows up to five documents in a single application, provided they all follow the same route, so a degree, its transcript and a school certificate can often go together. Each one is still charged as a separate document, at AED 150 each, and digital and courier-based documents need separate applications. The total is shown before you pay, and we list it apart from our own fee.
