Court applications in Dubai

A court application is a written request to Dubai Courts, such as asking for a certified copy of a judgment or for an order from a judge. We type it correctly in Arabic, organise and translate the supporting papers, and guide you while you submit it from your own Dubai Courts account.

Overview

What a court application is

Not every request to a court is a new lawsuit. Once a case or an execution file is open, much of what happens next is driven by written applications: asking for certified copies, adding documents, requesting a new hearing date or asking the judge to take a specific step. Some applications can also be made outside a full case, such as a petition asking a judge for an order on one narrow point.

Dubai Courts work in Arabic and decide every application themselves. A clear request, the correct case number and complete attachments make it easier for the court to deal with what you have asked, rather than sending it back for corrections. That is the part we help with: getting the paperwork right so the decision turns on the substance.

We are not a law firm. We don't advise you on whether to apply, what to ask for or how a judge is likely to respond. If your request needs legal strategy, a licensed advocate should lead it, and we can still type and translate the documents to their instructions.

Fees and timing

Two fees, shown separately

  • Government fees, paid at cost

Court fees, where they apply, are set by Dubai Courts and paid at cost. We confirm the amount shown on your application before you pay, and list it separately from our service fee.

  • Global Sky PRO service fee

Quoted in writing before we start, so you know the full cost up front.

  • Timing

Typing time depends on the length of the request and how many documents need translation, and we give you a ready date when we quote. The court then deals with the application on its own timetable.

Good to know

Details that save time

Common reasons applications are sent back

Most delays come from small, avoidable gaps rather than from the request itself. Before you submit, we check for the issues that tend to cause problems.

  • A wrong or incomplete case number, or a request placed in the wrong file
  • Attachments in English or another language with no legal translation
  • Several unrelated requests mixed into one document
  • No proof that the person submitting can act for the company or party
  • Scanned pages that are unreadable, cropped or out of order

If you already have an advocate

Many clients come to us with an advocate already handling their case. In that situation your advocate decides what the application says and files it, and we type, format and translate to their instructions. You get consistent Arabic paperwork without changing who is responsible for the legal side.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is a court application?

A court application is a written request to the court about a specific matter, usually inside a case or execution file that is already open. Examples include asking for certified copies of a judgment, adding new documents, requesting a postponement or asking a judge for an order. The court decides each request, and clear wording and complete attachments help it do so.

Can I submit a court application online?

Yes, in most cases. Dubai Courts offer electronic services, and individuals who are parties to a case register with UAE PASS and then create a Dubai Courts account. Companies, advocates' offices and other bodies have their own account types. We prepare your application and attachments, then guide you while you upload them from your own account.

Do I need a lawyer for a court application?

Not always. Parties can file their own applications through Dubai Courts e-services, but if you want someone else to represent you in court, that person must be a licensed advocate. If your request involves legal arguments or strategy, speak to an advocate first. We can then type and translate the documents to their instructions.

Can you submit the application for me?

No. Applications are submitted by you, from your own Dubai Courts account, or by your advocate. We prepare everything beforehand and stay with you, at our office or remotely, while you upload it, so you understand each screen. This keeps the filing in your name and under your control.

Can I ask Dubai Courts to postpone a hearing?

Yes, you can ask, but the court decides and postponements are limited. The UAE government portal explains that a court may not postpone a case more than once for the same reason given by one party, except for a valid excuse, and that an adjournment should not exceed two weeks. A request with a clear reason, the correct case number and supporting proof is easier for the court to consider. We type and translate it; the judge decides.

How do I track a court application at Dubai Courts?

Track it through your Dubai Courts e-services account or the Dubai Courts app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play for following judicial services. Sign in with the same account you used to submit, check the case or request number, and watch for messages asking for corrections or more documents. If the court asks for something, respond within the time it gives. We help you prepare any follow-up paperwork, and you submit it.

Does a court application to Dubai Courts have to be in Arabic?

Yes. The UAE government portal states that documents presented to UAE courts must be in Arabic, and anything in another language must be translated into Arabic by a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). That covers your application and its attachments, such as contracts, invoices and emails. You can tell us what you want to request in English or another language we speak, and we type the request in Arabic and arrange the translations.
